How long is that material guaranteed for? This varies by the product: Hardiplank is guaranteed for 50 years, metal roofs for 25 years, patio covers for 30 years, and solid core siding and windows for a lifetime! back to top How thick is the material? Hardiplank is 1/4 to 3/8 inch fiber cement product. back to top Do you have to paint Hardiplank? Yes. We use Sherwin Williams’s super paint because it has a sealer and a mildecide in the paint, or we can use any other top quality paint of your choice. back to top Why should we go with Best Investments versus the competition? If you like to paint or change your color, Hardi Plank is the way to go. If you do not like the hassle or expense of painting, choose solid core siding instead. back to top If I do not want the expense of replacing all my wood can I just repair an area with Hardiplank? Yes, we can repair an area and repaint it. We will get the same board size you have on the house to match what is on there now. back to top Do you handle the windows that do not break? Yes, it is keepsake glass. You can take a baseball bat to the window and it will not break! These are great to replace bugler bars, hurricanes, etc. Also, low energy glass cuts down on the suns up rays and reflects the heat away from the inside. This will save on your energy bill versus a regular insulated window. back to top What is the difference between the windows you use and the other windows out there on the market? Most insulated windows only have a 10 year warranty on seal failure, but ours will have lifetime warranty on seal failure. Almost all windows we use have a lifetime warranty on the frames as well. back to top Do insulated windows come in any other color besides white? Yes, you can get them in white, bronze, almond, or tan frames. back to top Can you put the insulated windows in brick without tearing out the brick or messing up my sheetrock? Yes, we custom make each window to fit your opening, and the average job can be installed in one (1) day. back to top Do you have any jobs in our area? We have jobs all around Houston and the surrounding counties. We will go 200 miles of Houston in any direction, and our hammers will travel. After being here for many years, we have references for all kinds of work. back to top How long will it take to do my job? An average Hardiplank job is 1-2 weeks; a window job averages 1 day; a solid core siding or vinyl siding job averages 1 week; a patio cover will take 1-2 days. back to top Are all vinyl sidings the same? No! Most manufacturers have at least 3 or 4 different thicknesses as well as some use regrind or fillers in their products. Another issue is called gray back, where the color is not consistent. At Best Investments, we use products of quality and thickness and our manufacturers use virgin vinyl. We even have some products that have a 10 year "no mildew" warranty.
